When the hydraulic pump of a small excavator is severely worn, it will have a fatal impact on the small excavator. Therefore, the excavator should solve these problems in time. As a Caterpillar bucket tooth manufacturer, I would like to share it with you. When troubleshooting a small excavator hydraulic pump, look for the cause of the failure from the following three aspects:
(1) Check whether the boom cylinder is leaking
An easy way to service an excavator hydraulic pump is to raise the boom and see if there is a noticeable free fall. If dripping is evident, remove the cylinder and check to see if the seals should be replaced.
(2) Check the control valve
First clean the safety valve and check whether the spool is worn. If worn, it should be replaced. If the safety valve has not changed since it was installed, check the control valve stem for wear. The gap limit is generally 0.06mm. If worn severely, it should be replaced.
(3) Pressure measurement of hydraulic pump
If the pressure is low, adjust it again, but the pressure is still not adjusted well, indicating that the hydraulic pump is seriously worn.
Don’t panic when the small excavator is worn out. During use, also pay attention to the correct use and maintenance of small excavators. Regularly add or replace hydraulic oil, maintain the cleanliness of hydraulic oil, and strengthen daily inspection and maintenance.
